Tigers beat the Pipers (35-14)

GAME SUMMARY: The 2017 Anson Tigers (1-0) opened the season with a convincing victory by a score of 35-14 over the Hamlin Pied Pipers (0-1). The game lasted nearly 3 hours due to injuries and penalties. Both teams were somewhat rusty as can be expected. The Tigers executed fairly well at times both defensively and offensively. Tempo seemed to be lacking for the offense.

HIGHLIGHTS: Drew Hagler rushed 20 times for 190 yards and 4 TDs while hitting 11 of 24 passes and 1 TD. Elijah Moser ran 22 carries for 106 yards. Leading receiver was Nick Tanner with  4 receptions for 93 yards and 1 TD. (LB) Chris Jones lead the Defense with 14  tackles and 4 for loss while sacking the Hamlin QB 1 time and a fumble recovery. (LB) Hayden Williams also had 13 tackles and 2 sacks. Drew Hagler had 2 interceptions
